umbraco.ninja is an independent company. We are not part of, owned by, affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Umbraco A/S (Umbraco HQ), Microsoft, Amazon or any other company. We are simply umbraco.ninja, a specialist consultancy that works with the Umbraco CMS.

What we collect
When you use our quote form we collect:
- your name, email address, phone number and company
- details about your website, such as its URL, Umbraco version, database and hosting
- your requirements, timeline and budget
- backoffice login URL and access details, if you choose to provide them
- whether this is your first order with us
- your IP address and the time you submitted the form, to protect against spam and abuse
When you browse our website, our servers record standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit, to keep the site secure and working.
How we use it
- to review your request and send you a quote
- to carry out and manage the work you order
- to send invoices and keep business records
- to protect our website and your data against fraud and abuse
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for marketing unless you have agreed to that separately.
Our legal basis
We process your information because it is necessary to respond to your request and to perform a contract with you, because we have a legitimate interest in running and protecting our business, and where required, to comply with legal obligations such as keeping financial records.
Login details and site access
Access details you share through the quote form are sent over an encrypted connection, encrypted before they are stored, and can only be viewed by authorised umbraco.ninja staff. Every view is logged. We permanently delete them when the work ends, or sooner if you ask. Please create a temporary account for us rather than sharing your own login.
Who we share it with
We only share personal information with service providers who help us run our business, such as our hosting, email and accounting providers, under contracts that require them to protect it. We may also share it where the law requires us to.
Third-party content on this website
- Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google's servers and shares your IP address with Google.
- Images and links in our News section come from umbraco.com. Loading those images connects your browser to Umbraco's servers, and following a link takes you to umbraco.com, which has its own privacy policy.
Cookies
We use only the cookies needed for the website to work, such as security cookies that protect our forms against forgery and a short-lived cookie that shows a confirmation after you submit a form. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
How long we keep it
- Quote requests that do not become orders: up to [12 months]
- Customer and project records: for [6 years] after the work ends, for legal and accounting purposes
- Login and access details: deleted when the work ends
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal information, to restrict or object to how we use it, or to provide it in a portable format. To make a request, email hello@umbraco.ninja. You also have the right to complain to your data protection authority, which in the UK is the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
