Running Umbraco on an old SQL Server such as 2012 or 2014? We upgrade the database server to a supported version, or move it to Azure SQL, alongside or separately from your Umbraco upgrade.
Old SQL Server versions fall out of Microsoft support and stop receiving security updates, even if your Umbraco version is current. Newer Umbraco versions also need a minimum SQL Server version.
We plan the upgrade, test it against a copy of your site, and cut over with a rollback plan, either on your own servers or by moving you to a managed Azure SQL service.
