SQLite is great for getting started, but it isn't designed for many concurrent editors, load-balanced hosting or larger sites. Moving to SQL Server isn't a simple copy, because Umbraco's schema, identity columns and data types need careful handling.
We help you choose the right target: SQL Server 2025, 2022, 2019, 2017 or 2016 on your own servers (Express, Standard or Enterprise), or a managed option such as Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance or Amazon RDS. We check that it's supported by your Umbraco version, migrate and verify every table, then switch your site over with a rollback plan in place.
